Ride the Surrey Hills with Family and Friends!
Enjoy a Sunday on-road charity cycle ride in the glorious Surrey Hills whilst supporting Princess Alice Hospice - our chosen partner and benefactor for this event.
Starting and returning at St Teresa's School, Effingham (near Ranmore Common), the three routes have been designed to follow quiet and scenic roads wherever possible. The Short / Family route stays mainly on the flat whilst the Intermediate and Long routes tackle some of the climbs that the Surrey Hills are famous for.
Please note: This is not a closed road event and riders should be safety aware and sensitive to other road users. Cycle helmets must be worn.
Intermediate and Long Routes: These are both challenging with several climbs so entrants should be competent cyclists, accustomed to variable road surfaces, have a good level of fitness and an appropriate bicycle. In addition to climbing there are descents which have twists and turns. For these routes we recommend that a basic tool kit, inner tubes and tyre levers should be carried and that you take some food with you as you could be on the road for up to five to six hours and we cannot guarantee that village stores on-route will be open. Our refreshment stop at a mid-way point will provide a limited range of refreshments including water, snack bars, cakes and bananas but no sandwiches or cooked food.
- Minimum age is 12 for all routes
- Entry fee - £30 for 18 and over and £10 for those aged 12-17.
- Route marshals
- Refreshment stop on the Intermediate and Long rides and refreshments for all at the finish
